The Summerville Cup
Summerville Country Club against Pine Forest Country Club, every year since the inaugural match in December 2000. Two-man best ball on day one, singles match play on day two, one day at each course. The cup goes home with the winner until the next match.
The match
A two-day Ryder Cup style match between the two clubs, one day at each course. Day one is two-man best ball matches. Day two is singles match play. About 32 players a side, and a pairings party the night before.
For its first two decades the cup was played on a weekend in early December. Since the 2019 cup it has been played the following January or February, after the holidays. The team is chosen from the previous year's players in good standing, then captain's picks and the Player of the Year standings. Members who want to play should tell the pro shop before the new year.
