The Chick Miler Invitational

Fifty-plus years of 54-hole individual stroke play for a field of 180 amateurs, with breakfast every morning and a party under the pavilion every night. Named for George “Chick” Miler, who bought the course after the war and brought it back to life.

The format

Three rounds over Friday, Saturday and Sunday. An Overall champion and, since 2023, a “Bufort Blanton” Senior Division champion for players 65 and over. Flights are set after round two.

The 175 field of golfers in the 50th Anniversary of the Chick Miler Invitational were able to finish their first round at Summerville Country Club on Friday. 🏌️

Two champions will be crowned this  year: The Overall Division and the “Bufort Blanton” Senior Division (65+). 🏆

🚨 Due to inclement weather impacting course conditions and player safety, round 2 has been cancelled for Saturday. Breakfast is still being served until 9am this morning and the dinner /social is still on for 6pm tonight! Flighting and final round pairings for Sunday will be posted by 2pm! ⛳️

50th Annual “Chick” Miler Invitational

Summerville Country Club is celebrating the 50th year of the “Chick” Miler Invitational and 50 years of ownership by the Bufort Blanton Family.

May 26, 27, 28, 2023.  The “Chick” is a 54 hole individual stroke play men’s amateur golf tournament with a competitive field of 180 golfers.  New for 2023: the “Bufort Blanton” Senior Division for ages 65+ has been added.   For the first time of the “Chick” there will be an OVERALL champion and a SENIOR champion.
